Frequently Asked Questions On Golf Club Fitting:
Q. How much does it cost to get fitted for custom golf clubs?
A. $125/hour for a professional swing analysis/club fitting in our Trackman 4 Hitting Bay. But it becomes FREEif you are buying clubs as the full amount is credited toward your purchase.
Q. Are custom clubs more expensive than “off-the-rack options?
A. It’s a common misconception that custom clubs cost more than stock options you might purchase “off-the-rack.” This is not the case! While more expensive, “upcharge” grips and shafts are available for custom builds, the majority of custom options don’t carry a higher price tag. In some cases, custom clubs are actually LESS expensive than stock clubs.
Q. I’m a mid to high handicapper, is it worth getting fitted for custom clubs?
A. Yes! We understand that good instruction and practice are what mid to high handicappers need most to lower their scores. However, playing with the wrong equipment for your game can be frustrating and seriously hinder progress. Combined with practice and instruction, playing with the right equipment will help a mid to high handicap player reach their goals faster.
Q. How long does it take to get fitted?
A. Full Bag- 2 hours
Iron set- 1 hour
Driver & Woods - 1 hour
Putter- 30-45 minutes
Q.What should I bring with me to my custom fitting appointment?
A.1. We ask that you bring your current set of clubs to warm up with at the beginning of your appointment. This will also allow your fitter to evaluate your swing and establish a “base-line” for the fitting.
2. Golf shoes and comfortable athletic attire are recommended but not mandatory.
Q. Do you offer putter fittings?
A. Yes. We have invested in special putting analysis software and tools to make your selection process very easy AND fun!
Q. What brands do you carry?
A. We are able to fit customers for custom options from Callaway, Titleist*, Taylormade, Srixon, Cleveland, Ping, and Mizuno. Doing a fitting with ALL of the top brands available during your session insures that you end up with the best clubs from the best brand(s) that match your individual swing style.
*At this time, fitting for Titleist equipment is limited to drivers, woods, and Scotty Cameron putters. Titleist iron fitting assets will be available mid-summer of 2023.
Q. Do you have fitting resources for left handed golfers?
A. Yes. We have the ability to fit lefties for the majority of wood, iron, wedge, and putter models offered by our manufacturers!
Q. Do you have fitting resources for women?
A. Of course! We have a large variety of women’s specific shafts plus women’s accessories and golf clothing; a large number of our customers are women.
Q. Is the Alpine Shop BrewSki Bar and Waffle Cabin open during our club fitting?
A. Absolutely! We have several Vermont beers on tap plus Shelburne Vineyards wine along with gourmet coffee, sap water and our famous chocolate Waffle Cabin waffles. We know of no other golf retail store in the U.S. that has a bar next to their fitting bay. What more could you ask for?? ?
